Dealing with Loss, Grief and Change 2016-01-22T04:25:55+00:00

As humans we all experience grief and loss over our lifetimes.  As well, we all undergo change at some point or another.

When we have a loss in our life, many of us are not prepared and do not understand how to handle the loss.  This is true especially if that loss is occurring for the first time.  And even if we have experienced it before it can still be very traumatic.

  • Loss and change can come in many forms:
  • The end of a relationship, divorce or separation
  • The death of a loved one
  • Moving to a different area
  • Loss of health
  • Loss of job and income
  • Loss of home

Although these things may seem different, the emotions that come with these losses are similar.  Some of the symptoms of the stress that accompanies these changes/losses can be depression, anxiety, fatigue, anger, trouble with sleep, change of eating habits, etc.
